Sebastian leads digital product innovation and business strategy in healthcare. Passionate about launching new-to-market products & businesses that transform patient experiences and health outcomes using AI/ML, cloud, analytics, personalization & multi-omics. Prior experiences at leading health systems and successful tech startups in Silicon Valley, Seattle and NYC (as founder).
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the outdoors and adventure motorcycling (see Himalayas trip), writing, working on open-source projects (see health AI & audio analysis), playing Sitar and Squash, and mentoring disadvantaged students (former Big Brother NY). Sebastian lives on Mercer Island in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his wife Aakanksha, a neuroscientist at the Fred Hutch and wonderwoman 🙂, and their bernedoodle puppy Veera.
He leads product development & commercialization strategy at Providence’s Digital Innovation Group, 3rd largest non-profit health system in the US (for AI, digital identity, personalization), Univ Pittsburgh Medical Center startup Humonic Inc. (real world evidence), a16z and Madrona Ventures backed startup Nautilus Bio (AI-based single molecule proteomics, went IPO), Cofounder/CEO at 10BioSystems (health & life sciences analytics platform), Kosan Biosciences (public cancer biotech acquired by Bristol Myers Squibb), SGX Pharma (drug discovery acquired by Eli Lilly).His work in tech innovation management, healthcare, social networks and computational genomics has been awarded by the National Science Foundation and Academy of Management, patented, published, and quoted in the press.
