Harvard Kennedy School
Shelby M. Chodos is Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy and has taught public finance at the Kennedy School for nearly a decade. His former students have gone on to successful careers in finance with state and local governments across the nation, as well as with private sector companies, including Moodys, S&P and various investment banks. He recently retired as a Managing Director of Commonwealth Capital Partners, Inc., a private investment firm in New England. After receiving his degree from the Kennedy School, he spent a decade on Wall Street and worked for a major investment banking firm. He worked with institutional investors and public officials on complex financings for infrastructure, housing, and economic development. He has served as an expert witness before numerous legislative and administrative bodies on finance, economic development and pension investment. He received his Bachelor's degree from Earlham College in 1979 and his Masters from Harvard in 1982. In 1977 he was awarded a four year academic scholarship as the first recipient of the Truman Scholarship for his home state of Ohio.
