Prof. Dr. habil. Stefan Prigge has been a full-time Professor for Corporate Accounting and Corporate Finance at HSBA since 2008. Professor Prigge completed his doctoral and post-doctoral studies at Universität Hamburg. Before joining HSBA and studying at Universität Hamburg, he held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and the Hanseatic University or Private Hanseuniversität Rostock.
His current research areas include corporate governance, family-owned businesses (with a focus on financing and corporate governance) and asset management (with a focus on ship investment and other alternative assets). Professor Prigge carries out his research into family-owned businesses under the auspices of the Hamburg Institute of Family-Owned Business (HIF), founded in 2011.
