Hwee Koon has an extensive experience with treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. She has 20 years of clinical practice in injury management; rehabilitation; injury prevention; sport and health performance enhancement services including on-field experience working with athletes of all levels including professionals and elite athletes.

Hwee Koon previously worked for the Singapore Sport Institute (SSI) for 10 years and was SSI team lead for the Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation team between 2016 – 2021. Her extensive experience with sport injury management has led her to be a Team Singapore Physiotherapist for 3 Olympic Games, 2 Paralympic Games, 4 Asian Games, 2 Asian Para-Games, 8 South East Asia Games and 3 ASEAN Para Games. She was also the Lead Physiotherapist for Team Singapore medical team during Major Games since 2014 and had travelled widely with various sporting team for their training camps and international tournaments for various high-profile sports ranging from Table Tennis, Swimming, Para-Swimming, Badminton, Fencing, Kayak, Netball, Water Polo, Diving and Artistic Swimming etc.

She was also the National and Young Lions’ Team physiotherapist for Football Association of Singapore (FAS) between 2004 – 2011 where The Lions had championed in the 2004 Tiger Cup and 2007 Suzuki Cup.

Hwee Koon major interest are in lower limb sporting related injuries, shoulder pain in swimming, racket sport and throwing activities. She also has a keen interest in back, hand and elbow issues in hand-standing sports. She has extensive experience managing both acute and overuse or repetitive injuries and enjoyed managing both post-operative rehabilitation and non-surgical interventions.
