Biography
Teachers College Columbia University
Yuna Seong is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the English Language Institute (ELI). She has been at NYU since 2008 and is currently working as the testing coordinator at the ELI. She has an MA in Second Language Studies from University of Hawai’i at Manoa where she specialized in language teaching and LAMPE (Language Assessment, Measurement, and Program Evaluation). She has been in the field of English as a second language (ESL) education and second language assessment since 2000 and has taught English at a number of universities and language schools in Korea, Hawaii, and New York. In addition she trains TESOL educators and reviews SAT exams for the College Board. Yuna is also a doctoral candidate in Applied Linguistics at Teachers College, Columbia University, with a concentration on second language assessment. Her research interests include second language assessment and pedagogy, cognition in language learning and assessment, learning-oriented assessment, educational technology and teacher training.
